MIPIM is back. As more than 20,000 descend on Cannes in a spectacular return for the global real estate expo, PlaceTech looks at what’s on this week.
Proptech is making a splash in the Palais this year with a dedicated exhibition area – the Propel Station –hosting startups from around the world and leading sessions about the themes that matter most in real estate.
Propel’s conference programme kicks off on Tuesday at 1100 with two back-to-back sessions on sustainability: misconceptions about ESG and how to fix them, followed by practical advice on achieving net zero goals.
From 1500-1545 on Tuesday you can catch PlaceTech editor Paul Unger leading a conversation on innovation in large corporates with speakers from Allianz Real Estate, Bouygues Immobilier and Prologis.
For a taste of the next big thing in proptech, head to the Propel MIPIM Startup Competition where the first semi-finalists will have the chance to impress a panel of experts and the audience with their innovations from 1615-1745.
The M-word makes an appearance at 10:15 on Wednesday. Welcome to the metaverse! But what is it? The session will delve into why everyone keeps talking about it and what opportunities it can bring to real estate.
After the next stage of the startup competition from 14:00-15:30, Propel will carry out a health check of the state of real estate tech markets using MetaProp’s 2021 Year-End Global PropTech Confidence Index.
Of course, reports can only tell you so much. Bringing the sector together once again, MetaProp and Pi Labs will host the annual MIPIM proptech party from 18:00 on Wednesday evening.
As the conference starts to wind down, the startup competition will finish with on-stage finals: a series of one-on-one pitch battles, after which the jury will announce the winners.
But before we all head back home, PlaceTech will be hosting our famous closing drinks on Thursday night on the beach.
PlaceTech is a media partner for Propel by MIPIM and we will be producing content and hosting events during the week with partners including home management portal Spaciable, real estate software giant Altus, tech lawyer Mills & Reeve, data management software NavigatorCRE, flexible office management platform essensys, and leading tenant engagement tech Equiem.
During the week PlaceTech will be producing video interviews with attendees explaining the key trends observed at MIPIM, and we will be hosting our famous closing drinks on the Thursday night on the beach.
